We can also manufacture your Windows and Doors in a range of Hardwoods and softwoods to your specification.

The sash window is often found in Georgian and Victorian houses, and the classic arrangement has three panes across by two up on each of two sashes, giving a "six over six" panel window, although this is by no means a fixed rule.
Innumerable late Victorian and Edwardian suburban houses were built in England using standard sash window units approximately 4 feet (1.2m) in width, but older, hand-made units could be of any size, as the image illustrates.
It consists of an upper and lower sash that slide vertically in separate grooves in the side jambs or in full-width metal weatherstripping.
We always come to your home for a free site survey and this is always carried out by Louis Brett, the owner of Meridian Windows and he will always be on site to carry out this work.
Draughts can be a major source of discomfort in older buildings which often results in the heating being turned up or run for longer.
Homes can lose around 15-20% of their heat via draughts in windows and doors so eliminating them is a major step forward in energy saving.
Older buildings in particular suffer from draughts as windows and doors distort and warp over time and never quite fit as well as when they were first installed.
We are an established manufacturer of Bespoke Sash, Casement Windows and Doors with the Technical expertise and high levels of craftsmanship to faithfully replicate all aspects of a sash window from any period of history.
We have our own dedicated joinery shop (see website picture) where we can make an exact replica window or match the features of other windows from adjacent areas of a building this enables us to provide symmetry for a building project by changing the design to match Architects or Planning requirements.
Your windows need to be fully serviced.
They need to be dismantled, eased, adjusted, re-aligned, re-corded and re-assembled, and have a brush pile draught sealing system installed.
Not only will this improve their smooth movement, it will also guard against rattling and draughts.
Both top and bottom sashes are designed to slide up and down the whole length of the box frame.
This enables greater ventilation in warm weather: with both top and bottom sashes open the warm air rises out through the top sash opening and is replaced by cooler air through the bottom sash opening.
