We use FAS grade Utile.
Utile has a wide distribution in tropical Africa, growing chiefly in the moist, deciduous forest.
It's strength properties are similar to those of American mahogany.
It works rather well, taking stain and glue well, and polishes well after filling.
We are pleased to supply quotations for other timbers where required and available.
Outer frame: Traditional mortice + tenon joint.
Sashes: High glue area comb joint.
Finish - one base coat + two coats of microporous waterbased stain or paint finish including dual colours of either of the above finishes, colour charts available on request.
