Established in 1987, I Foster & Sons is a family run business located in Romford on the borders of London and Essex.

We offer our customers a full replacement service which includes new boxes, architraves and nosing. All our box sash windows are fully draught excluded and operate on a spiral balance system. We are able to retain your original coloured glass and incorporate it into your new timber windows.

Ian started his carpentry career at the tender age of 13, sweeping the floors after school at F Kimberley & Son in Romford, Essex.
Upon leaving school, Ian secured the position of trainee carpenter at F Kimberley & Sons where he received his full carpentry training, working his way up to become a junior partner.
Ian then went on to establish I Foster & Sons in 1988 working from a small workshop on Mount Pleasant Farm in Hornchurch.
Where we remained until 1994 when due to expansion I Foster & Sons was again relocated this time to Spring Gardens Industrial Estate in Romford, Essex where we remain today.

Throughout our 30 years of producing premium timber wood windows and doors in Romford, Essex, we have continuingly invested and researched our products to give our customers traditional, energy efficient, low maintenance windows and doors.
We work closely with all our timber suppliers to ensure that we source only the highest quality timber from sustainable forests within the Far East.
Timber naturally enjoys excellent insulation properties.
This combined with skilled craftsmanship and the latest machine technology ensures that we always produce a product that is second to none.

We custom make two styles of timber casement windows, the first being the traditional square edge flush casement window which is hung on butt hinges and secured by stay bars and cockspur handles.
The other being a stormproof casement window which is hung on friction hinges and secured by a multi point locking system.
Both styles are manufactured using rebated sections and are fully draught excluded.
In addition all glazing is beaded internally.
